Our latest release, 25.1, is packed with enhancements designed to make warehouse operations smoother, faster, and more flexible. These updates address real-world needs with practical solutions, from optimized picking processes to improved label printing and enhanced traceability.
Let us dive into the highlights of what’s new and how these changes can elevate your workflow.
Revolutionizing Picking with MSN Pick to TrackID
One of the standout features in this new release is the Sales Order MSN Pick to TrackID functionality, a game-changer for warehouses looking to streamline their picking process. Imagine consolidating multiple pick slips onto a single pallet, labeling boxes on the go, and skipping the checkout step entirely. That’s precisely what this feature delivers.
With the new mobile screen, pickers can now act as packers, assigning Master Shipment Numbers (MSNs) to group pick slips and generate box labels (e.g., MSN+Warehouse+B1, B2) during the picking process. These labels can be printed upfront or at the end, offering flexibility to suit your workflow. Upon confirmation, the system also automatically converts Picking TrackIDs to Shipping TrackIDs, provided the warehouse’s shipping setting is enabled. This eliminates the need for a separate checkout, letting you move straight to dispatch.
The feature supports Serial Shipping Container Code (SSCC) numbering for compliance and handles under-picking scenarios with the same logic as standard MSN picking. Whether you’re shipping at pick confirmation, checkout, or invoice, the system adapts to your setup. By leveraging existing database structures and introducing new settings like MSN_BOX_PICKING_REQUIRED and PROMPT_FOR_MSN_LABELS_ON_ASSIGN, this enhancement ensures a seamless, picker-driven workflow that boosts efficiency without requiring major system overhauls.
Flexible Label Printing for Purchase Order Receipts
Next up, we’ve made label printing for Purchase Order (PO) Receipts more versatile. The Receipt Purchase Order screen now includes a Label Format dropdown, letting users choose from predefined templates like 4×6 or 1×2.5, depending on the item (think label rolls for smaller items). You can also select a target printer—yes, even a PDF printer—right from the screen.
This update eliminates clunky workarounds, like printing to PDF and reprinting via TrackID Reprint, saving time and reducing label waste. New system settings under RECEIVING, such as BARRELLABEL_FORMAT1 and BARRELLABEL_FORMAT1_DESC, make it easy to configure and describe label options. The dropdown defaults to the existing BARRELLABEL template (typically 4×6), ensuring compatibility for sites with simpler needs. By tweaking the PostFinalize, ReprintLabels, and PrintLabels methods, we’ve ensured that your selected template is applied dynamically, delivering accurate output every time.
Enhanced Traceability with TrackID Reprint Logging
Accountability is key in warehouse operations, and our new TrackID reprint logging feature delivers just that. Every time a TrackID is reprinted—whether from PC screens like TrackID Reprint, Receipt Purchase Order, Receipt LCT, or GIT In, or from HTML5 screens like TrackID Reprint and GIT In—the action is logged in the tblUserActionLog table. Each entry captures the user, timestamp, and TrackID details, creating a clear audit trail.
This enhancement improves visibility for troubleshooting, auditing, and compliance, all without requiring new database tables or settings. It’s a small change with a big impact, giving operators and managers the tools to track reprint activities effortlessly.
New Triggers for Seamless Integrations
Release 25.1 introduces several new triggers to enhance integration with external systems and add flexibility to your warehouse management system (WMS). These triggers activate after key actions, allowing you to execute custom scripts for additional logic, logging, or alerts:
- GIT Out Posting: Fires after a GIT Out is posted to SYSPRO via the Business Object, from either mobile or PC apps.
- GIT In Posting: Activates after a GIT In is posted, mirroring the GIT Out functionality.
- Shipping Truck Load Posting: Triggers when the “Post” button is clicked to submit TrackIDs on the Shipping Truck Load screen.
- Shipping Truck Load Completion: This function activates when the truck load is fully completed, as indicated by the completion message.
These triggers make connecting your WMS with third-party systems easier, ensuring your operations stay in sync and adaptable to unique business needs.
New Business Objects for Greater Flexibility
We’ve also added several new Business Objects to empower third-party developers and streamline processes:
- Pick Post (Picking / OrderPicking): This allows third-party systems to pick reserved items using original reservation IDs, even for over- or under-picks, improving order fulfillment accuracy.
- PlaceOnHold and RemoveFromOnHold (WarehouseSetup / InventoryOnHold): These replicate the PC-based Inventory On-Hold Control screen, letting developers programmatically manage TrackIDs’ ONHOLD status while updating history and reasons.
- PreReceiptAllocation (InboundReceipts / Receipts): Simplifies receiving by allowing multiple purchase orders to be processed in a single post, cutting down on processing time for complex inbound receipts.
These Business Objects open up new possibilities for automation and integration, making your warehouse operations more efficient and connected.
Release 25.1 is all about giving you the tools to work smarter, not harder. From the MSN Pick to TrackID’s streamlined picking and labeling to flexible label formats for PO receipts, enhanced reprint logging, and powerful new triggers and Business Objects, these updates are designed to fit seamlessly into your existing workflows while boosting efficiency and traceability. Whether you’re consolidating pick slips, printing labels, or integrating with external systems, this release has something to make your day-to-day operations a little easier.
