PICKING OPTIONS
All picking starts with an assigning process. In this process, DATASCOPE WMS can apply rules such as blocking a picker from starting a picking slip for a customer when there is another, older picking slip for the same customer.
RELEASING OPTIONS
Management of the release of picking slips (for Sales order or WIP) to the warehouse is fundamental to the WMS core as it is in this section that much of the warehouse optimization logic is built. Here is where the software selects
- Which orders to release
- Releases them in logical picking waves and
- Provides all the stock allocation rules to select the most optimal inventory to be picked to ensure that the warehouse is as efficient as it can be.
REPLENISHMENT OPTIONS
PUT AWAY RULES
The put away system is used to direct any newly received inventory to the bulk or pick face bin locations. A number of put away rules can be applied. For most companies the put away of stock is processed directly after receiving from a Purchase Order, LCT Shipment, GIT in or Job Receipt. Very often each TrackID is a pallet of product of a single SKU that must be moved into the bulk area of the warehouse or directly to the pick face. The Put Away program expects the movement of stock at a TrackID level from receiving directly to single destination
STOCK RESERVATION RULES
The Auto Reserve function uses various picking strategy settings in the WMS setup to attempt to automatically reserve stock from the most optimal location. The software ships standard with 13 complex reservation rules which will suffice for most clients, however for the more advanced warehouses the software allows for the setup of a custom rule. This rule allows the client to write a completely customer reservation set of logic.
