BEKA (Pty) Ltd, Africa’s leading manufacturer of Luminaires and Glass Fibre Reinforced Polyester (GRP) Poles has selected and implemented the DATASCOPE WMS barcoding solution for SYSPRO ERP. The company produces high quality products and solutions for all forms of lighting. Over the past year BEKA have supplied much of the lighting to our world class stadiums.
BEKA selected DATASCOPE WMS in August 2010. The project was started on the 01st of September 2010 and went live on the 10th of January 2011. Much focus was placed on rearranging the plant layout to accommodate a central receiving and storage warehouse to improve the inventory controls. The new layout together with DATASCOPE WMS has enabled BEKA to drastically improve both inventory identification and accuracy and has improved general discipline throughout the 3 manufacturing facilities.
Despite this implementation requiring a lot of Work In Progress (WIP) functionality, the WMS solution was over a 98% fit for the business.
