TecsaReco is the premier South African supplier of spares and related know-how for all major global domestic appliance brands. It is further the sole distributor in South Africa for certain global brands e.g. Whirlpool/KIC. A 22 -strong branch network, supported by a fleet of 70 vehicles and services the TecsaReco customer base nationally.
Based on very strong business growth over a 4 years period, TescaReco identified the need to revamp their main distribution centre in Johannesburg in May 2015. DATASCOPE was selected as we offered both the warehouse layout consulting and know-how as well as the software to bring the DC to new levels of service and efficiency.
The project experiences a few delays in cleaning up obsolete stock in the warehouse and while some new racking was implemented. The site went live first quarter 2016. Since implementing DATASCOPE the warehouse has seen improvements in stock accuracy and order accuracy.
One aspect of TecsaReco that was new for the DATASCOPE team was the implementation of a large trade counter. To manage this environment the DATASCOPE team implemented a SYSPRO pane based pick slip releasing systems so that a trade counter operator could easily load an order in SYSPRO, take payment or part payment and then release the picking slip immediately to the warehouse.
TecsaReco has recently been purchased by the holding company of MetraClark, another strong DATASCOPE customer.
