Experience seamless Landed Cost Tracking (LCT) receipt processing with the DATASCOPE Warehouse Management System (WMS) LCT Receipt module. Handling LCT receipts can be complex, requiring key steps in SYSPRO before processing in DATASCOPE PREMIUM WMS. This module provides four distinct options to manage and process your LCT shipments within WMS, ensuring they are efficiently added to your inventory.
- Receipt the LCT by Importing a Packing List of Pallet Allocations
- Receipt of the Entire LCT (Default Option)
- Receipt of the LCT as per Physical Pallet Configuration
- Receive the LCT Using an HTML5 Mobile Device
Receipt the LCT by Importing a Packing List of Pallet Allocations
The LCT receipt module in SYSPRO is designed for customers importing large quantities of products in containers. It builds up the shipment information upfront, providing reference numbers and product details. There are four main strategies for receiving pallets, with the packing list import being the most common—especially when the supplier palletizes products inside the container.
For instance, if containers from China are palletized by the supplier, they can send a packing list upfront detailing the shipment contents. This packing list can be directly imported into the DATASCOPE software, which allocates product IDs for you. You then process a full receipt of the LCT, print barcodes and TrackIDs for all pallets, and proceed with put-away.
The put-away process for such pallets and shipments can be lengthy when de-stuffing containers. The primary benefit of the LCT receipt is the ability to build the shipment in SYSPRO and obtain the packing list before the container arrives. Once it does, you can import the packing list, process the receipt, and print all necessary labels. As the product comes out of the container, you can match the TrackID to the pallet and put it away immediately, making the process faster and more efficient.
To get the packing list beforehand, you can request an Advanced Shipping Notice (ASN) file from your suppliers. Each shipment generates an ASN file, which is picked up by an EDI messaging service and later received on your end. When the shipment arrives, import the file into SYSPRO, pre-populate the receipt, and process it. This step enhances the automation of EDI connectivity between your supplier and the DATASCOPE receiving department.
Other LCT receipting processes include receiving the entire LCT (all stock codes) on one large Master Pallet.
Receipt of the Entire LCT (Default Option)
Since the pallet configuration is often unknown during the initial receipt, a Master Pallet is created first and later split into smaller pallets using the HTML5 Receipt Palletization transaction once the container is unpacked.
A third option is receiving the LCT according to the physical pallet configuration. This option allows you to build an LCT Receipt pallet by pallet based on the actual configuration within the LCT container.
